Rural development in the border areas: From ‘borderscaping’ to cross-border planning

Abstract

This chapter is part of a long-standing research project on the border areas and more particularly on the North Monaghan and South Tyrone area. It will explore the efforts to change the perceptions of the border over the last two decades along with the crucial issues confronting planners, developers, local authorities and also communities.
