This chapter defines and problematizes identity-based aggression in the forms of racist microaggressions and macroaggressions. The author also reasons that social problems have social solutions. Therefore, racism can be addressed, reduced, and even eradicated through an increase in awareness and a commitment among individuals and institutions to address racism when it occurs. The chapter also explains that racism thrives in silence, and it outlines the benefits of addressing racism.
