Abstract

The purpose of this researchis to analyse the role of Collaborative Learning Method on Mathematical Problem Solving of students. Methodology used in this research an experiment, which divides class into experiment class and control class. Samples taken in the research come from students graded VIII in district of Jagakarsa that were reachable namely: MTs Nurussaadah Jakarta and SMP Perguruan Rakyat 1 Jakarta period 2018/2019, whereby every students of experiment class and control class is 25 students. Hence, the whole samples used in the research is 50 students by using simple random sampling in technique of data collection. Technique of data collection is done by providing essay to put variable of solving mathematics problem. Hypothesis testing of the research uses T-test and obtained T-count > T table. Thus, it can be summed up that there is the role of collaborative learning method to manage mathematics problem solving. Collaborative learning method is able to be an alternative for teacher in teaching to make an active and affective situation.
