Abstract

Discusses the cross-cultural variation in the prevalence and nature of psychopathy. The performance of the Psychopathy Checklist-Revised (PCL-R; R. D. Hare, 1991) in Scotland and the performance of the PCL-R in North America is compared. The application of Item Response Theory (C. L. Hullin et al; 1983) methods are described and possible explanations for cross-cultural differences are considered. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2016 APA, all rights reserved)
