Abstract

‘Prosumerism’ was first coined by Alvin Toffler in his book ‘The Third Wave’ to denote people who produce some of the goods and services they then consume themselves—for example, by making their own clothes, building their own cars, or cultivating vegetables for their kitchen (Toffler, 1980).
