This chapter provides a broad overview of demolitions and demolition devices. Focus is on systems or techniques which use explosives to either launch a projectile against or to be placed in direct contact with a particular structure. Blast from an explosive charge, combustible fuel or dust, can cause significant damage to a structure, however this is not a conventional demolition technique. For a discussion of this topic, see the books by [Baker (1973)], [Kinney and Graham (1985)], [Baker et al. (1983)], and [Glasstone and Dolan (1977)]. Although demolition can be performed with various mechanical techniques, they are outside the scope of this chapter.
