Even though, blood donation is a habitual manner among most Malaysian, only a few members of the public come forward to donate their blood. The behavior was identified as one of the contribution factors to the problem of insufficient blood reserve, in particular during the festive seasons. A qualitative study was conducted to identify reasons why adults in Malaysia, especially those who are in the age range of 18 to 35 years old disinclined to give their blood. Data was collected from 23 respondents, who involved in a series of focus group discussion. The study discovered factors such as unawareness, ignorance about the importance of blood donation, discouragement from family member, friends and health personnel to blood donation; as well as inadequate information about blood donation affect respondents' decision to donate their blood.
