Abstract

In order to do justice to the "fact of immigration society" in terms of education policy and practice, specialized approaches relating to different problem dimensions are not sufficient. On the basis of international research on educational policy and practical educational strategies in immigration countries, an integrative program is therefore being developed that takes into account the need for action at different levels of school development. The basis for this is the comprehensive examination of discriminatory structures and practices as well as xenophobic, racist and right-wing extremist interpretation patterns and ideologies. The anti-discrimination perspective developed in contrast to pedagogical multiculturalism, but also to universalistic pedagogy of French character, calls for the previously separate debates on the educational disadvantages of migrants on the one hand and the requirements of anti-racist and intercultural pedagogy on the other to be brought together.
