Abstract

With other variables held constant, phytoplankton biomass was found to be negatively correlated with mean integrated krill Euphausia superba density and number of krill swarms, but positively correlated with krill swarm biomass. Strong day-night periodicities are indicated. For krill, this was a sampling artifact. Day-night periodicity in the fluorescence profiles appears to have been real.-from Authors
