Abstract

Monte Carlo methods are well known in many fields, and prove crucial in cases in which analytical estimates are impossible or very complicated. They are based on the multiple replication of a single calculation by varying the parameters taken from a randomly generated distribution. This chapter discusses the methods and provides some typical application examples.
