Abstract

In this paper, the droplet size distribution of steam-ethanol mixture Marangoni condensation on a vertical surface was investigated. Based on the experimental images, the droplet radius under nine experimental conditions was measured and then the droplet sieve accumulative weight fractions were acquired. The regression curve was fitted out from the scatterplot chart of the droplet sieve accumulative weight distribution under different working conditions. It is proved that the droplet size is mostly in the range from 0 to 0.5m and the droplet size distribution shows a good agreement with the Rosin-Rammler model. In a fixed mass fraction, along with the increase of surface subcooling, the droplet sieve accumulative weight fraction of one certain droplet radius increased greatly. © 2012 Springer-Verlag.
