Abstract

The paper tries to understand the detrminants of project success resorting to a contingency view. Classifying projects along three dimensions (software vs. hardware, scope and output), data on 110 projects is regressed. Canonical correlation analysis establishes different success factors for different types of projects, which according to the authors proves the point.
