Occupational nail disorders

Abstract

To assess nail disorders: Rule out nail involvement leading to a “false-positive” diagnosis in the absence of a thorough history and test laboratory. Determine, whether it may be exacerbated or just revealed by occupational trauma. Visualize what the hands do at work. Look for functional distribution of the lesions. Look for occupational stigmata on the nails. Examine the whole skin surface and mucous membranes.
