Abstract

Medicine has taken an enormous step from the performance of life-saving open procedures to minimally invasive surgery that assures not only survival, but also a relatively good quality of life. The general acceptance of laparoscopic surgery has made many procedures less invasive, safer, and cosmetically more acceptable. The idea of scarless surgery has now become a great challenge for the whole medical environment.
