Background: The value of oxygen saturation of a patient having decreased consciousness, especially to those suffering stroke and head injury, will affect their blood pressure to be unstable. Objective: The study aimed to find out the effect of level I progressive mobilization on blood pressure and oxygen saturation in patients with decreased consciousness in the ICU room of Muhammadiyah Hospital of Palembang. Methods: The design of this study used a pre-experiment with one group pretest posttest without control group design. The population were patients who decreased awareness with unstable blood pressure and oxygen saturation hospitalized in ICU room with a sample of 16 respondents. The sampling technique used consecutive sampling conducted from April 9 to May 2, 2019. The data were analyzed using Wilcoxon test. Results: There were effects of level I progressive mobilization on systolic blood pressure (p value < 0,001), on diastolic blood pressure (p value < 0,001), and on oxygen saturation (p value < 0,001). Conclusion: The level I progressive mobilization can improve blood pressure and oxygen saturation of the patients with decreased awareness. Consequently, it can be nursing intervention to improve blood pressure and oxygen saturation of the patients with decreased awareness easily and safely.
