Abstract

This chapter takes aim at the methods of Criminology that are based on western metaphysics and argues for a place-based approach to criminology that recognises the ongoing impact of the colonial matrix of power. It reflects on an Indigenous research ethic built on respect, reciprocity and protocols on place. We draw on our commitments and learnings relating to Indigenous self-determination to further a decolonising methodology.
