Abstract

In autumn 1990, the German Federal Minister for Research and Technology launched the so-called "1000-Roof Photovoltaic (PV) Programme". Within the framework of this programme, about 1,500 grid-connec'ted PV plants are to be installed in one-and two-family houses between 1990 and 1994.This paper outlines the main technical requirements and the utility consultation concept" provided by RWE Energie Aktiengesellschaft for small grid-connectedPV plants. The organisational measures of the German Federal Government are described in another contribution to this conference. The technical requirements and the consultation concept are aimed to assist in realising reliable, low-cost and efficient PV plants.
