Abstract

Human fibroblasts, from a patient with congenital lack of α-D-galactose-1-phosphate uridyl transferase activity, have been infected with transducing bacteriophage that harbours either wild type or defective transferase gene. Infection only by the former phage initiates transferase synthesis. © 1971 Nature Publishing Group.
