Abstract

This study set out to assess the effectiveness of community-based tourism initiatives within Northern Cyprus in promoting sustainable tourism development and improving the well-being of local communities within North Cyprus. Using a mixed methods approach, the study provides evidence that community-based tourism initiatives can play an important role in promoting sustainable tourism development and improving the well-being of local communities within North Cyprus. The findings suggest that community-based tourism initiatives have positive economic, social, and environmental impacts, and that greater community involvement in these initiatives leads to even greater benefits. The study further recommends areas for future research.
