Abstract

The number of cases of laryngeal tuberculosis has been decreased in recent decades, after the introduction of antituberculostatic therapy and improvement in living standards. This trend has been dramatically reversed in the past few years, largely owing to the increase in pulmonary tuberculosis, which is, in twin due to HIV, poor living standards and malnutrition. The clinical manifestations of laryngeal tuberculosis (TBC) seems different from those described in the past. The most important to the otolaryngologist is consider to include this pathology in the scope of the diagnosis of disease of the larynx in especial the difference between TBC and carcinoma.
