Abstract

In this paper we present a solution for segmenting anatomical structures on chest radiographs. First we show an algorithm for the lung contour detection, then we describe a method for finding the ribs and clavicles. The results of these procedures are used as input for a bone shadow elimination algorithm. Different implementation results are also discussed, like C++ and a parallel solution on GPU. © 2010 International Federation for Medical and Biological Engineering.
