The pedagogical practice becomes the most rigorous academic process with respect to the initial teacher training, since it allows them to appropriate the necessary competencies for professional practice¸ its importance lies in the formative approach of the Didactic Axis focused on planning, strategies of teaching and the evaluation of learning towards educational actors as social beings and transformer of realities within a given context. The objective of the research focused on analyzing pedagogical practice as a space for conceptualization and experimentation in the initial training of the educator. The methodological design used established an analytical-descriptive investigation, with a mixed approach, through the reflection of the conceptions, characteristics and the detailed record of the elements that intervene in said process, understanding in depth the educational phenomenon. The population studied was made up of 120 students from the Bachelor’s Degree in Children’s Pedagogy in Colombia. The final results reveal the expertise in mastering skills to have a positive appreciation of their own training process. It is concluded that a high percentage of students agree as to what should be the competences for approaching pedagogical practice.
