Potential of the education system in Russia in training staff for the digital economy

Abstract

The contribution presents the research results of the potential of the education system in Russia and ways of their updating in order to improve the quality of training for the digital economy. The authors of the contribution disclose answers to such questions as: 1) what qualification requirements are applicable to labor resources; 2) what potential does the education system in Russia have in training the workforce for the digital economy; 3) what are the risks in the education system in Russia in training for the digital economy. The conclusions substantiate the potential of the education system Russia in training for the digital economy and determine the leading role of managerial staff of the educational organization in its updating. The authors used general scientific research methods: systemic and functional approaches; special research methods: sociological (expert assessment method, observation and analysis of educational practices, questioning and interviewing participants in educational relations, interviewing employers) and statistical methods. The methods used allowed scientifically characterizing the potential of the education system in Russia in training for the digital economy. The source base for the contribution was materials from the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, the International Telecommunication Union, the World Economic Forum, the Boston Consulting Group, Russian legislative and executive bodies, the Institute for Statistical Studies and Higher School of Economics and etc.
