The innovation of autonomous buses develops more advantages into the smart city infrastructure by reducing the cost and increasing its reliability. This can also enhance the transit capability and accessibility in a cost-effective manner. The main objective of this paper is to gather requirements for developing an autonomous bus which can propel itself from place to place without human intervention. This research study sets a new platform for decreasing labor costs and increasing safety of passengers in transit. The project is supposed to be implemented as a miniature prototype where the major functionality is implemented and demonstrated. The proposed methodology will majorly benefit the public transport with more flexible modes that can generate more advantages to metropolitan residents.
