Abstract

Ultrasound (US) is one of imaging modalities for evaluation of peripheral nerves. It can provide diagnostic information in entrapment neuropathies, benign or malignant tumors, infection and post-operative assessment. In this article, a description of nerve’s anatomy is presented and its correlation with the US appearance. We discuss the advantages of this modality and explain the examination technique. In the second part, the ultrasonographic aspect of upper extremity entrapment neuropathy will be discussed.
