Naringin, also called naringoside, hesperidin, and isohesperidin, is a kind of flavanone compound extracted from immature or nearly mature outer layer of C. paradisi Macfad which belongs to Citrus grandis (L.) Osbeck. Naringin has many biological activities and pharmacological effects including antioxidant, antiaging, anticancer, antimicrobial, hypoglycemic, lowering blood pressure, and prevention of atherosclerosis, and it has been used in fields of medicine and cosmetic. In addition, naringin can be used as natural colorants and flavor modifiers in food industry.
