Abstract

Inverted nipples refer to a condition whereby a portion or the entire nipple is buried in the lactiferous ducts. Nipple inversion can be distressing to the patient but can also cause functional problems being a source of inflammation and irritation and may prevent lactation. The authors describe the technique as well as possible complications.
