Abstract

Success in developing a software project consists of meeting the objectives for which it was conceived. A fundamental aspect lies in measuring the progress status of the project through monitoring by determining what controls should be established and taking corrective actions. This article proposes using elements provided by SEMAT and procedures established by the QFD method to face some problems that arise in measuring the progress of software development projects. As a result, various approaches to measuring progress in software project development are described. In addition, a representation model based on SEMAT is presented, and a validation model based on the QFD quality matrix is developed. This work provides a valuable contribution to the field of software engineering since it establishes guidelines to measure the advance of progress in the development of software projects. Keywords: Software development; progress; quality; SEMAT; QFD
