Species of horticultural interest described include A. ampullaceum, A. aurantiacum, A. curvifolium, A. miniatum (all Asiatic) and A. pumilum (from Taiwan). Details of hybrids are given, together with aspects of cultivation. With the exception of A. pumilum (adapted to a shady cool habitat), Ascocentrum spp. require high light intensity, airy conditions and warm temperatures.
