Abstract

Many exciting new advances in our knowledge of the hip and its pathologic processes have occurred during the past several years. With the use of magnetic resonance (MR), MR arthrography and with improvements in arthroscopy and surgery of the hip we continue to improve our understanding of the hip. Current topics of interest include imaging of the acetabular labrum, femoroacetabular impingement, fatigue and insufficiency fractures, bone-marrow edema syndromes, and abnormalities of the greater trochanter and its tendon. © 2005 Springer-Verlag Italia.
