Abstract

Applications of multimedia in ecological education for children are becoming interesting subjects. A virtual natural ecological park demo is set up with Web3D technology; the virtual park is based on real countryside scene near NingBo. In the virtual world, there are trees, water and animals. The design method of interactive animation is proposed. The program techniques of interactive animation are introduced, the design of sensor node and Lod node are essential to a large virtual scene. A user can explore the virtual park from different view and learn ecological knowledge in interactive manner. © 2012 Springer-Verlag GmbH.
