This chapter of a book looks at the production routes involved in machine-washable knitwear production. The equipment for garment treatment is examined as well as the process for finishing garments including scouring and milling, scouring and anti-cockle, shrink-resist treatments and polymer only treatments. Yarn treatments and continuous treatments are also described while the environmental considerations of the whole process are examined.
