Abstract

Bernthsen reaction has been carried out under microwave irradiation in the presence of p-TSA (10 mol%) as catalyst in a solventless reaction to provide 9-substituted acridines. In the present report, time economy and better yields as compared to conventional Bernthsen reaction are described. © 2011 Taylor & Francis.
