Education in the field of physics has an important role in forming qualified candidates for scientists and technicians. One of the factors in the teaching and learning process of physics is the use of adequate laboratory equipment, but sometimes the use of laboratory equipment is ineffective because users do not understand how to operate it properly. In addition, difficulties in accessing information about available equipment and how to use it can hamper the teaching and learning process in the Physics laboratory. This is the background for conducting this research. This study uses the ADDIE method, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation. Data collection techniques were carried out by interviews and questionnaires which were distributed to several experts in the field of evaluating the feasibility of a catalog. In addition, a questionnaire was also given to users of the QR-code based catalog, namely students as researchers and practitioners in the Basic Physics Laboratory. This research is expected to contribute to increasing the effectiveness of the use of Basic Physics laboratory equipment, as well as providing inspiration for the development of QR-code technology in the education sector. From the study, it was obtained that the average score of the due diligence test was 88%, stating that the catalog was very feasible. While the average score for the effectiveness test is 89% which states that the catalog is very effective. Thus, making a classification catalog and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the operation of Basic Physics Laboratory equipment based on Quick Response (QR)-code can increase the effectiveness of practicum and research activities in the Basic Physics laboratory.
