Abstract

The Wabo Dam and its associated reservoir could trap 92% of the sediment load of the Purari River (central and South Papua New Guinea) over a 150-yr period. This environmental impact assessment details sediment transport under natural conditions, estimates sediment deposition above the dam and below it and predicts future developments.-P.J.Jarvis
