The Resurgence of Fascism in the Mid-Twenty First Century

Abstract

The Europeans thought fascism was dead – an aberration of the twentieth century march to parliamentary democracy. Now, it has reappeared in France, Italy, Germany, Hungary, Turkey, and Russia. What are the causes for this resurgence of fascism? We focus on the immigration crisis, global capitalism and the outsourcing of working-class jobs, and the women’s movement, along with specific cultural orientations towards autocratic government.
