Abstract

In this chapter, we present an overview of selected tools and systems available for developing SemanticWeb Services. We examine five prominent tools for developing Semantic Web Services and align them to the Semantic Web Service deployment lifecycle presented in Chap. 6. In particular, we describe the development of OWL-S services using tools, such as the OWL-S IDE and the OWL-S Editor; the development of WSMO services, through the WSMO set of tools and IRS-III; and finally, the annotation of services in WSDL-S through the tool MWSAF. Each of these tools cover the steps in the Semantic Web Services deployment and usage lifecycle to varying extents. Some of them, such as MWSAF, focus on only one stage of the lifecycle, whereas other tools, such as the OWL-S IDE and WSMO set of tools, cover all stages. © 2007 Springer.
