Abstract

The Brazilian companies must comply with the Quotas Law for People with Disabilities (PwD). However, it is difficult to recruit PwD with required qualifications. In this context, we have developed a mobile solution based on Android platform, accessible and integrated into our existing Accessible Learning Management System (ALMS). This tool, dedicated to distance learning and based on mobile learning methodology, offers training in software development technologies. Its user interface supports special requirements of accessibility and the content of classes is also adapted for PwD. The application is also integrated with a chat and forum, helping the communication among students and tutors. The solution is designed to facilitate and spread the access to knowledge for PwD anywhere and anytime. We expect to motivate PwD students, supporting various types of learning from existing technologies, and creating engagement opportunities in an interactive and stimulating way.
