Abstract

Glaucoma, in most cases, is a disease of the elderly. As ophthalmologists, however, we treat women of childbearing age who have glaucoma. The treatment of glaucoma in women who are attempting to conceive, are pregnant, or are lactating raises many challenging questions with respect to management options for the care and safety of the mother and child. This chapter will discuss issues related to glaucoma management during pregnancy and lactation. © 2010 Springer-Verlag New York.
