The world we live in is becoming increasingly more complex, requiring non-trivial, creative solutions. One important problem is the one of continuous monitoring, reconnaissance, or terrain coverage. Here the terrain may be constantly changing and agents are required to frequently return to previously visited locations. We call this temporal terrain coverage. This paper describes several models of terrain coverage and compare them wrt. their ability to deal with temporal and spatial coverage. © 2008 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
