Abstract

In the field of economics the work on case studies is a major part in practical tertiary education since the turn of the century. The need for integrated information and communication systems among different enterprise sectors has developed over time. Accordingly, higher education has to reflect this development. The research presented in this paper focused on case study-design by analyzing existing methods and the developing of criteria's. That gives an insight how case studies can be designed to support didactics and education science aspects. The analysis of the scientific work in this field shows a gap between actual available case studies and approaches to increase the learning success in the field of education science. The results of the research will help to design case studies under the consideration of didactics and education science aspects, as exemplary case study the paper presents a case study in the data warehouse environment. © 2009 Springer Berlin Heidelberg.
