Abstract

The essential goals of breast reduction or mastopexy are to get a predictable result, to retain nipple sensitivity and the possibility of lactation, and to obtain an excellent aesthetic appearance. For short scar mastopexy/reduction, the author discusses the indications, advantages, and disadvantages as well as surgical anatomy. Breast development and ptosis are described, as well as patient consultation, examination, and the surgical procedure. Possible complications are discussed.
