Abstract

Computer Fundamentals course is widely given to students of different majors in almost all universities. But almost all classes still take the traditional teacher-centered style. This style of course is boring to students who have almost no idea of the computer principles before. In order to solve this problem, this paper introduces the learner-centered participatory method into the course. We present the interaction techniques applied to the course, introduce the course schedule and discuss problem shooting techniques when applying the method. This education method can stimulate the interests of the students and help the student easily understand the fundamentals step by step. © 2012 Springer-Verlag GmbH.
