Epilog to the English Edition

Abstract

Since the Japanese edition of this volume was published in 1998, many significant social, political, economic and other events have occurred. These changes which have taken place in Japan and other parts of the world have significantly implicated the levels of general trust. According to the World Values Survey, the overall levels of general trust in many countries declined between 2000 and 2005.
