Abstract

Doctoral studies are training through independent research under supervision aiming at creating new knowledge, leading to a doctoral degree, most commonly the PhD degree. Holders of a doctoral degree are expected to, among other things, have the “ability to conceive, design, implement and adapt a substantial process of research with scholarly integrity” according to the Dublin Descriptors (EHEA 2017).
