Abstract

The topics discussed in this chapter on venoms produced by members of the genus Loxosceles, which are very toxic to man, include the distribution and biology of the venomous species, the chemistry, toxicity, pharmacology and mode of action of the venom, and the epidemiology, symptomatology, pathology, prognosis, treatment and prevention of bites by these spiders.
