Abstract

According to the idea of multi-resolution model, the objective of the paper is to establish site selection model through the combination of qualitative and quantitative site selection methods to get the best site selection scheme of distribution centers. The primary site selection scheme is obtained by using Analytic Hierarchy Process which analyses the macro factors influencing the site selection. After the primary selection, the mixed integer programming is used to get the final site selection scheme. In the mixed integer programming model, besides basic influencing factors, environment protection, distribution centre management and customer satisfaction are considered. Genetic algorithm is used to solve the models which would be calculated in Matlab software to ensure the accuracy of model solution. In the end of the essay, the case study analysis illustrates that the effective combination and integration of qualitative and quantitative site selection methods could make the site model more comprehensive, more accurate and accord closer with practical situations. © 2014 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
