Abstract

One of the main characteristics of e-government is the collaborative work. By the collaborative work we mean that differently functional departments in the government should cooperate with one another in order to accomplish an integrated service required by the citizens. Each functional department works as a part of the integrated service. A web service-based architecture together with a data model of e-documents is proposed to meet the requirements for the collaborative work in e-government. A scenario is given to demonstrate how the suggested architecture works. © Springer-Verlag 2004.
