Abstract

This work began with an investigation on the alternative conceptions that mexican high school students (15 to 18 years old) present about the depletion of the ozone layer. Based on the analysis of the results obtained, a teaching-learning sequence was designed and tested in order to promote a more significant knowledge of the causes and effects of the environmental phenomenon. The results show an improvement in several of the aspects analyzed, however, it is recommended to contemplate the study of these topics in an integral way in the high school curricula.
