Abstract

This paper analyzes the emphasis of educational policies for Youth and Adult Education (EJA), focusing on the modality in Brazilian penal units. From this movement, relationships established with research in the field that deals with the work of teachers in spaces of deprivation and restriction of freedom. The production, with a qualitative approach, is the result of bib-liographic studies and documentary analysis. The reflections presented al-low us to understand aspects of educational guidelines and studies in the area, articulated to the consequences for teaching work, given clashes and consensus produced in the context of neoliberal reforms.
